...2008 Scholarship Winners
The 2008 Oak Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Ms. Stephanie Bleika. Stephanie is a senior at Connetequot High School in Bohemia, who lost her single Mom to a tragic house fire. In spite of the unbearable sorrow of losing her mother in conjunction with senior year academics and finding a new home for herself and brother, Stephanie managed to graduate with honors in June. With the help of the Oak memorial Scholarship, Stephanie will be attending New York University as an English major in September.

The 2008 O'Keefe Foundation Board of Governors Scholarship was awarded to Christian Andrews. Christian is a senior at Christ the King High School in Middle Village, Queens who lost his father, a NYPD undercover detective who was executed point blank by gun and drug dealers. In spite of losing his "best friend and mentor", Christian managed to attend the gut wrenching trial and still graduate with honors. Christian will be following his father's footsteps by attending St. John's University and majoring in Criminal Justice.
